Warwick Week（On-Campus Event）が中止になりました

家でごろごろしていたところ、Warwick Business Schoolからメールが届きました。

9月に予定されていた "Warwick Week" をオンラインでやりますよという通知です。

Your taught programme will begin as planned with two days of online induction on 6 - 7 June but we do want to inform you that due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions and social distancing measures looking certain to continue, the School has taken the decision to move the planned residential ‘Warwick Week One’ online in September.

The dates remain the same, 4 - 11 September, and it will still be a largely ‘live’ activity though our virtual classrooms, with group work and with co-curricular activities as well. Please be reassured that we’ll endeavour to maintain the networking and intense feel of Warwick Week throughout. Our January 2020 intake felt that their first Warwick Week was very successfully run online in April.

 多くのオンラインMBAでは、年1,2回の必須通学イベントがあります。これは完全オンラインだとやはりエンゲージメントが高まらないし、ネットワーキングが限られるということのようです。

WBSでは、その On-Campus 期間を "Warwick Week" というのですが、今年はCOVID-19の影響でオンライン開催になってしまいました。まあ予想していましたし、仕方ないですね。

4月にもオンラインで実施されたそうで、まあ大混乱とまではいかないだろうと思います。

ただ、個人的には授業の内容以上に、ネットワーキングや、キャンパスの雰囲気を体験して以降のモチベーションを維持したりするために良いと思っていたので、残念でなりません。

今年は会社のイベントや出張も軒並みキャンセルかオンライン開催になり、本当に航空業界は苦境だと思います。
